“I first started going to Cko around two years ago training 3-4 times a week and since then I’ve lost 30+ pounds and gained more confidence with the help of the amazing trainers that push me to do my best!”
My name is Oscar and I joined CKO East Brunswick on 1/2/2018. I’ve lost a little over 100 pounds since joining CKO. CKO has changed my life and below is my story.
Weight: 310 pounds to 205 pounds
Shirt Size: XXXL to Large
Waist Size: 52 to 36
Age: 38 to 39, but everyone says I look younger now
I can’t stress enough how great the staff at CKO has been. Every instructor truly is unique and has their own style. Jen won’t let you quit and forces you to go that extra mile. Jeff is always doing something unique and getting you to work in teams. Veronica makes sure you remember to go at your pace and her energy is contagious.
Everyone at CKO has been super supportive. From the first day I joined up until now. Everyone pushes each other, and they are the first ones to give you complements on your progress. Thank you to Carlos, Christian, Nicole, and every other member that complemented me, pushed me, and stood around for a double. I can’t say this enough, but the other people at the gym motivate you a great deal. Example: You may be exhausted, but then you see the person next to you hitting the bag with everything they have, then next thing you know your body gets a second wind, and you dig deeper. It’s like nothing I’ve experienced before.
Best 60 minutes workout around. I’ve tried going to other gyms but end up spending more time walking around than working out. A CKO workout is like nothing else. You leave there sweaty and feeling accomplished. There are plenty of time slots for classes. Everything from the dreaded 5:30 AM class to the 9:30 AM class to the 8:00 PM night class. No matter who you are CKO will have something to meet your schedule. Night classes have a different feel than morning classes, so I would suggest trying them all out and seeing what works best for you.
I regret I didn’t sign up sooner. My life has changed so much, I only wish I’d done it sooner.
Go at your pace, take breaks when you need them. Do what you can, it’s always ok to modify a routine (Veronica’s favorite saying). Don’t forget to bring water. Get a nice pair of gloves that give you good padding and will last. Most importantly don’t stop showing up. Set yourself a goal like 12 sessions in a month and stick to it. You’ll see the progress and will be motivated by the results. Just do it. It will change your life.
