Fitness Background: I joined CKO Matawan in August 2015 and fell in love immediately with the style of workouts. I have been a trainer/instructor since May 2016. In addition to CKO I also love weight training and playing recreational football, softball and baseball.
Class Style: I am constantly looking for new ways to mix things up in my classes to make them fun, intense and unpredictable. I believe the best way to get dramatic results is to constantly be out of your comfort zone by trying new things and pushing yourself to your limits, both physically and mentally. I also often play my own music during class, which consists of a selection of upbeat rock music that I use for myself to get pumped up for my own workouts.
Trainer Nutrition Coach
Birthday: February 16th in New Jersey
Education and background: I attended Seton Hall University and have my Masters of Science in Occupational therapy. Outside of CKO I am an Occupational Therapist working with the geriatric population and currently undergoing a fellowship to become a Board Certified Geriatric Specialist in OT.
CKO: I have been a trainer here for a little over 2 years and the coach for the 10 week nutrition and kickboxing challenges.
My Philosophy: I believe that exercise is the best medicine. I believe in challenging each individual during class through motivation and modeling while having fun simultaneously. I also understand each person requires a different level of “push” and I try to individualize the group class as best I can for all levels. I believe each person should enjoy the process of bettering their bodies mentally and physically.
Personal traits: Motivating, dedicated, positive, caring ( and some may say “EXTRA”)
My why: I love CKO because it gives me an outlet. I am not only bettering my physical health but able to care for my mental health along the journey. Here at Matawan CKO the trainers and members become family and we have great relationships throughout the gym. I look forward to walking through the doors of CKO and knowing we have an impact on our community.
Fitness background: I joined CKO Matawan in January 2015 and became a trainer in May 2016. I loved the class because it was an hour that flew by because it was fun and without even realizing I only focused on myself.
Class style: I try to challenge my classes with new exercises and goals. I want to help each individual have a better mind set and help them push harder to achieve their own goals. I love play upbeat music nice and loud to set the tone of the class and get everyone pumped up to hit the bag.
I’ve been training at CKO since December 2014. I became a trainer in March of 2016.
I am a retired Division I basketball player who hung up her basketball sneakers in exchange for a pair of boxing gloves. I began my CKO journey when I was looking for ways to mix up my workouts. I grew tired of the traditional weightlifting and spin class and was looking for new ways to challenge myself athletically. I came to my first class not knowing what I was walking into and I can honestly say I got so much more than I expected. CKO is not only challenging, but FUN and a perfect way to focus yourself mentally. I’m very passionate about fitness as I believe a good workout sets the tone for your everyday life. My favorite part about these classes is seeing people walk in with a lot on their mind and leaving feeling like a weight has been lifted off their shoulders. Watching new members become addicted and reach their fitness goals is all a trainer could ever hope for and I couldn’t be more thankful to be even a small part of their journey.
My classes are challenging with a mix of cardio, bag work, and body weight circuits so that every member leaves feeling like there isn’t a single part of their body they didn’t work out. I love to mix up my playlist and play anything from Top 40 hits to old school hip-hop during class. I would describe myself as funny, hardworking, motivated, energetic, and passionate about everything I do in life. Come to CKO Matawan and workout with me!

5 words to describe yourself : Motivated, passionate, Empathic, Hard-working, Wired (lol)
My class: I love to push you guys to your limit. Long combinations on the bag followed by immediate cardio is my favorite way to work your entire body – with occasionally mixing in some ground exercises to really get you to challenge yourself.
Music played in class: I LOVE house music – I think the high BPM vibrate through you & help you continue to stay upbeat and on the move.

Our Trial Class is available for first time guests only. If you would like to take advantage of this one time offer, you may sign up directly through each club's schedule. Plan on arriving 15-20 minutes before your scheduled class time. Once registered, you will be provided with an orientation of the punches and kicks you will be using throughout the class. Our classes are geared so you can “go at your own pace” so there is no need to be intimidated. You’ll love the CKO experience!
Each class is 1-hour in length and offers a total body workout. You will sweat, de-stress and enjoy exercising more than ever.
Since you will be punching a heavy bag, you will need to protect your hands with boxing/MMA gloves. Feel free to bring your own or we have a variety of gloves available for purchase at the gym. Wear loose fitting, comfortable gym clothes. We guarantee you’re going to sweat. Therefore, shorts will probably be a good option. You will not be permitted to participate in a class unless you are wearing sneakers/tennis shoes. Please bring a towel and you will definitely need water or some type of sports drink. These are also available for purchase at the gym.
Once you become a member, you can begin taking classes immediately.
The majority of our members have never taken a kickboxing class prior to coming to CKO. However, they get addicted to the workout quickly.
Since everyone has their own heavy bag to workout on and goes at their own pace, our classes are geared for all fitness levels. Our certified instructors are trained to motivate and push each member to their desired results.
If a young adult under the age of 18 is interested, a parent/guardian must sign for him or her to take a class. Please inquire within to see if we are currently offering programs for children.
We have both male and female members and the classes are mixed.
Your membership entitles you to unlimited classes. You can workout every day if you like.
We have many different programs available. Once you have completed your trial class, one of our representatives will go over different pricing options.
All of our locations are individually owned and operated. Depending on the market, it can range anywhere from $5 - $20 to take a class in another gym.
We offer our 10 Week Challenge Program at different times of the year. Once signed up as a prospect in our system, you will be notified whenever the program is offered.
Due to popular demand, some CKO Kickboxing clubs offer group, co-ed, children's kickboxing classes. Please inquire with your local CKO Kickboxing club to see if the classes are available, and let your voice be heard.
