My first experience with CKO happened when my friends invited me back in late 2020. I expected to check it out and go home and that would be it. I was looking for something different to motivate me to keep coming back so that I would get into and stay in shape. After the first class, I signed up. It was really difficult to get through each class at first, but I knew that something this challenging would only benefit me in the long run, so I decided to stick with it. I was a little all over the place with scheduling classes at first, and then Covid happened, which messed me up for a few months.
Once classes resumed, a major event in my life caused me to make a decision about my health and life in general and around July of 2021 I decided to go all in. I started going to classes consistently 3 days a week. Sometimes I would even add a 4th class. I was determined and focused. I soon added a different diet to my daily life along with just keeping myself active in general.
Fast forward to March of 2022. I am down 38 pounds and I feel Like I’m in the best shape of my life. CKO was an outlet for me when I went through a tough time in my life and I’m thankful that they were there. The people that make up what we call our Fit Fam have just been phenomenal. I’ve met some of the most amazing people in my classes, from the owners, to the instructors, and all those that kick and punch alongside me. They have no idea how much they mean to me just by being there. Being a friendly ear. Keeping me motivated. Teaching me while I just try to absorb everything in order to make myself a better person. To all of my Fit Fam, I just want to say thank you from the bottom my heart. You guys are amazing.
For someone new coming in, I would say that when you try out a class for the first time, even if it seems difficult, stick with it. You will certainly benefit from coming to classes in the long run and you will meet some great people along the way. No one will judge you here. We are a family and we are here to help you along and build you up, not tear you down. If you struggle at first, talk to one of the instructors or even one of your fellow members and I know that they will do their best to help you in any way they can. In a word, CKO for me was and still is, Life-Changing.
