Fitness Kickboxing is the number one fat-burning cardio exercise. And a CKO Kickboxing class is a high-intensity interval training (HIIT), full-body workout designed to increase your heart rate. In a single class, an individual can burn several hundred calories. But beyond the burn, a CKO Kickboxing class comes with a host of other benefits that aid in overall well-being.
Increase cardio
While each CKO Kickboxing instructor has their own structure, every class flows through several cardio-centric rounds that hit every muscle in your body. It’s a mix of punches and kicks targeted on a real, heavy-bag—jab, cross, uppercut, hook; front kick, round-house kick, side kick. Each of these elements increases your cardiovascular endurance and acts as a true workout for your heart.
Strength training
CKO Kickboxing rounds are designed to elevate your heart rate and bring it down again so that you are able to reach new levels of intensity in your workout while simultaneously entering that fat-burning zone (where weight loss happens). Beyond the bag itself, all CKO Kickboxing classes include stand-alone, conditioning training exercises such as lunges, jump squats, jogging, push-ups, and core exercises.
As you practice those punches and kicks on a heavy bag, along with conditioning, you will notice a gradual increase in your strength. The resistance of the bag, over time, becomes a conduit for muscle strength. That’s because each muscle is activated as you make direct contact with the heavy bag. Over time, the repetition of a kickboxing workout also aids in muscle memory, making it easier to perform the workout without thinking.
Better flexibility
A CKO Kickboxing class is a 45-minute workout that begins with a warm-up and ends with a cool-down. These exercise book ends are designed to slowly increase blood flow to your muscles before your rounds and return your heart rate back to a rest zone after that last punch. But from the moment you step onto the mat to when you take off your gloves, you will improve flexibility in each CKO Kickboxing class. With every punch and kick you are slowly stretching your muscles. And with each stretch, you are helping your balance as a byproduct.
Stress relief
Endorphins (one of the four happy hormones) are released during your kickboxing workout. And this is especially important as endorphins are your body’s natural pain reliever, which reduces stress. As you incorporate CKO Kickboxing classes into your schedule, especially if you make it a routine two to three times a week, you will notice a change in your mood and less tension in your body as a result of the decreased stress.
Investing in yourself
Knowing what to invest in is never easy. The safest bet these days, with the most control, is to invest in yourself. At CKO Kickboxing, the majority of our franchisees started as members and instructors. Instead of gambling on their future, they turned their dreams and existing actions into reality.
It’s been famously said that “the best way to predict your future is to create it.” If you’re passionate about fitness and helping people, it’s time to take stock of yourself!
