It was my love for exercise that made me pursue becoming a group exercise instructor. My dream was realized in 2006. I love teaching high intensity classes that challenges and motivates our members. Seeing class members work hard and get results makes me proud of my motto “Sore today, Strong tomorrow.”
CKOSpringfield is not just a gym to me. I feel like I am part of a family. I can only hope the members feel the same way!

As an avid exercise enthusiast, I have always looked for new ways to challenge my body and add different workout routines into my repertoire. After trying CKO classes by recommendation of another Springfield Trainer (Angela), I quickly felt the positive impacts kickboxing could have on oneself: how much fun the classes are, the physicality and stress relief, and of course, the great workout! Shortly thereafter, I started teaching classes at CKO Springfield, and have had a blast in doing so. Come try one of my 5:30 AM workouts on Monday mornings. It’s a great way to set your fitness momentum for the week!
Hey everyone, my name is Nick and I am CKO Springfield’s Head Trainer! I have been very motivated and active ever since I was in high school, being varsity captain of both my football and lacrosse teams. I have a great love for fitness and have made it a consistent part of my lifestyle. Working out is such a great way to keep in shape, look good, and feel better about yourself. I believe that fitness is just like anything else in life, Consistency is Key!
I felt myself falling into a predictable routine with my workouts and desperately needed a change. I was scrolling through Facebook one day and saw that one of my cousins had liked CKO Kickboxing Springfield’s Page. I went to the website and signed up. I became a member as soon as they opened their doors in January of 2015. I immediately fell in love with the intensity and fun that each class entailed. The trainers were so energetic and they pushed you to work out every last calorie in each class. After my first couple of months, I started noticing an increase in my workout intensity and overall endurance. I had more energy and was more relaxed at the end of my day because I knew I was truly working myself to my full potential. When I was asked to become a trainer here, I jumped at the opportunity to be part of this great fitness family. Speaking for every one of the trainers at CKO Springfield, since I have taken each of their classes multiple times, you will love what becoming a part of our family will do to you.
Three years ago, I took my first CKO class. I signed up 4 weeks earlier as part of their “1st 100 Member” promo at 3:30am during a feeding with my 6 week old. I knew that I wanted to get my body back after my 3rd baby, but I also knew that for my own sanity (having kids 4, 3 and 6 weeks), I needed to get out of my house and do something for myself. It took me having my 3rd child to realize that although I’m a mother; I still need to have a priority and do something I enjoyed. CKO turned out to be the answer for me. I don’t like traditional gyms, and although I could workout at home with videos and the treadmill, it’s hard to stay motivated when there is laundry piling up and dishes to be done. CKO was my escape from that. It was 1 hour a day that I got to focus on me. After my first class, I wanted to throw up, but made myself go back the next day, and then go back again, and again. I was hooked. I have become stronger, both mentally and physically, and am in the best shape I’ve been in many years.
I wanted to become a trainer at CKO because I knew that I could help people change their lives the way CKO changed mine. I love to inspire people to become the best version of themselves. There’s no room for excuses, and we are all striving for progress not perfection.
As a high school physical education teacher, I emphasize the importance of life-long health and wellness on a daily basis. I have always loved working out, being active (this includes long walks with the loves of my life-my dogs!!), and trying out new forms of exercise. Trying out something new led me to try kick-boxing at CKO Springfield, along with the incredible opportunity to become an instructor. This is where I am able to continue to teach my passion of fitness and wellness to an amazing group of people. Together, minute by minute, we work toward achieving that strong mental, physical, and emotional health.
Our Trial Class is available for first time guests only. If you would like to take advantage of this one time offer, you may sign up directly through each club's schedule. Plan on arriving 15-20 minutes before your scheduled class time. Once registered, you will be provided with an orientation of the punches and kicks you will be using throughout the class. Our classes are geared so you can “go at your own pace” so there is no need to be intimidated. You’ll love the CKO experience!
Each class is 1-hour in length and offers a total body workout. You will sweat, de-stress and enjoy exercising more than ever.
Since you will be punching a heavy bag, you will need to protect your hands with boxing/MMA gloves. Feel free to bring your own or we have a variety of gloves available for purchase at the gym. Wear loose fitting, comfortable gym clothes. We guarantee you’re going to sweat. Therefore, shorts will probably be a good option. You will not be permitted to participate in a class unless you are wearing sneakers/tennis shoes. Please bring a towel and you will definitely need water or some type of sports drink. These are also available for purchase at the gym.
Once you become a member, you can begin taking classes immediately.
The majority of our members have never taken a kickboxing class prior to coming to CKO. However, they get addicted to the workout quickly.
Since everyone has their own heavy bag to workout on and goes at their own pace, our classes are geared for all fitness levels. Our certified instructors are trained to motivate and push each member to their desired results.
If a young adult under the age of 18 is interested, a parent/guardian must sign for him or her to take a class. Please inquire within to see if we are currently offering programs for children.
We have both male and female members and the classes are mixed.
Your membership entitles you to unlimited classes. You can workout every day if you like.
We have many different programs available. Once you have completed your trial class, one of our representatives will go over different pricing options.
All of our locations are individually owned and operated. Depending on the market, it can range anywhere from $5 - $20 to take a class in another gym.
We offer our 10 Week Challenge Program at different times of the year. Once signed up as a prospect in our system, you will be notified whenever the program is offered.
Due to popular demand, some CKO Kickboxing clubs offer group, co-ed, children's kickboxing classes. Please inquire with your local CKO Kickboxing club to see if the classes are available, and let your voice be heard.
